Get Ready to Galentine!

Get ready to spread some love!

It’s the season of adoration and Galentine’s Day is fast approaching. February 13th has become a pre-Valentine’s day tradition where you celebrate with friends. This day is a blend of Valentine’s Day and your gals. Galentine’s Day! It’s a day where women celebrate their friendships in all their forms. There’s no wrong way to celebrate. Sure, it’s not an official holiday but we should have a day to celebrate our female friendships. Take the time to spend this fun occasion with your bridesmaids. You’ve chosen these people because they love and support you endlessly. It’s important to make them feel valued because they are putting effort into making your wedding day an unforgettable event. We’ve put together a few ideas on how to celebrate your bride tribe.

Stock up on the face masks, nail polish, and WINE! Have the girls come over for a rosé and movie day. Create a charcuterie board with everyone’s favorites, get some sweet treats, and buy some pajamas for your special guests to lounge in. Chat about the big day! Your bridal party and you will inevitably talk about the wedding or bachelorette party. It will be a great way to start the conversation.

It’s common to have people from different parts of your life in your bridal party. You might have a sister that lives out of state, a childhood friend, a college buddy who just finished studying abroad, a sorority sister, or a new friend from the office. Not everyone has likely gotten the opportunity to meet each other. Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to introduce them. Once everyone has met, use this time to get everyone familiar with each other. The better everyone gets along, the smoother and more fun your actual wedding day will be. Share the adventures you’ve had together or play a silly getting-to-know-you game to break the ice between your gals.

If you’re planning your wedding without help, trying to plan a party on top of that can be stressful. Explore alternative ways to show your appreciation. Your bridesmaids and groomsmen are going to spend a good chunk of money on outfits, traveling, gifts, and parties to make your day the most special. Helping cut costs will be nothing short of greatly appreciated. There are some options to consider. Do you have a specific dress or accessories that you want your bridesmaids to wear? Buy gift cards to the store for each of your friends. Think about covering the cost of the hotel rooms or the hair and makeup on the day of.

Meaningful, personalized gifts show you’ve put thought into something for someone else. Buy useful items, like a passport holder if the wedding or bachelorette party is out of the country. Make your loved ones that don’t live close feel involved during events. Send them a care package or save the money and video chat with them as the party is happening! You don’t need to buy a gift if your budget is tight. Depending on strengths and personalities, you might want to invite some bridesmaids to participate in some wedding-related decisions. Show you value their opinions. This simple gesture is appreciated by those closest to you.

If you’re planning your wedding without help, your free time will slowly disappear. You’ll only get to see your friends for dress shopping, cake testings, and your shower. Your bridal party takes on financial commitments, and parties to plan. Use Galentine’s Day as the chance to enjoy time together and say thank you. Put the spotlight on your bride tribe for one day.
